2021 Prospect Rankings

Defensive Line

1. Christian Barmore
Height: 6’4″ • Weight: 310
Christian Barmore is an upside pick for any team in need of an interior defensive lineman. Barmore shows great power as a rusher and routinely pushes his man into the lap of the quarterback. As a run defender, he’s excellent at clogging the middle. Barmore can improve by adding a set of pass rush moves to diversify his game.

2. Tommy Togiai
Ohio State
Height: 6’2″ • Weight: 296
Tommy Togiai is a violent rusher who is well-rounded as a run defender and pass rusher. Togiai hits gaps well on rushes and displays fighty hands when engaging with linemen. As a defender, he demonstrates great instincts and is quick to cut off outlets.

3. Levi Onwuzurike
Height: 6’3″ • Weight: 290
Levi Onwuzurike is another interior defensive lineman with an all-around game. Onwuzurike is stout in run defense. He particularly shines as a pass rusher thanks to his initial push, set of moves, and ability to consistently collapse the pocket.

4. Daviyon Nixon
Height: 6’3″ • Weight: 313
Daviyon Nixon is one of the strongest defensive linemen I watched this year. Nixon has the power to embarrass opposing linemen. Nixon is strong in run defense and often draws double teams. He offers some pass rush thanks to his hand fighting, but further work in this area is still needed.

5. Tyler Shelvin
Height: 6’2″ • Weight: 350
Tyler Shelvin is a powerful defensive lineman. Shelvin gets a strong push which can blow up run plays and force quarterbacks out of the pocket. He demonstrates a solid rip move and attracts double teams freeing up his fellow rushers. While he reads plays well, he does struggle finishing. Teams may want to see him in better shape at the next level.
