2018 NFL Draft Prospect Rankings

Defensive Ends

QB | RB | WR | TE | OT | G | C | DE | DT | EDGE | OLB | MLB | CB | S

1. Bradley Chubb
College: NC State
Height: 6’4″, Weight: 269
The hype is real around Bradley Chubb. I heard some mild concerns about his performance at the combine. But, it’s difficult to ignore his play. A strong defensive end with a high motor, fantastic bull rush, and a nice interior rush. I can pretty much keep adding positive adjectives after most traits.

2. Marcus Davenport
College: UTSA
Height: 6’6″, Weight: 264
A versatile defensive end. Marcus Davenport’s length suggests teams will view him as a 4-3 defensive end. Davenport does have experience playing standing up. He’s a raw prospect, but has displayed an amazing speed rush and high motor. He’s an upside pick and could go earlier than expected on draft night.

3. Rasheem Green
College: USC
Height: 6’5″, Weight: 275
Rasheem Green is a very raw defensive end with a ton of upside. More of a finesse player, teams will love his athleticism and quickness. He reacted well to plays and had some success getting to the quarterback as well. But, Green often struggled with bigger offensive linemen. Often times getting over-engaged or thrown around. Teams will have to hope he can bolster his strength without sacrificing his speed.

4. Da’Shawn Hand
College: Alabama
Height: 6’4″, Weight: 297
A smart and well-rounded defensive end. Da’Shawn Hand showed nice quickness for his size. I was a fan of his ability to read and react to plays. He was very rarely confused by play fakes and was a force in run defense. Hand displayed a nice interior pass rush and was strong in collapsing the pocket.

5. Chad Thomas
College: Miami
Height: 6’6″, Weight: 275

Chad Thomas seems like a boom or bust prospect. Thomas moved around on the Miami defensive line and was a powerful pass rusher. He’s great at disrupting plays before they even start. My concerns with Thomas is that he seems to mail it in at times. You’re left wondering if he can be a three down player in the NFL. Adding to that, I found that Thomas it prone to biting on play fakes and at times can get lost on plays.
