2018 NFL Draft Prospect Rankings

Cornerbacks

QB | RB | WR | TE | OT | G | C | DE | DT | EDGE | OLB | MLB | CB | S

1. Denzel Ward
College: Ohio State
Height: 5’10”, Weight: 191
A clean cornerback prospect. Denzel Ward does most things well. Ward plays tight coverage and is great at reading a quarterback’s eyes. He has great anticipation and has shown the ability to switch off of receivers to make plays. A great athlete, it’s rare not to find Ward running step for step with receivers.

2. Isaiah Oliver
College: Colorado
Height: 6’1″, Weight: 190
I came away impressed with Isaiah Oliver’s game. Oliver showed great awareness as corner both as a pass defender and when making a tackle. On short screens he has the strength to shed blockers and is aggressive enough to step up and make a tackle. It’s also clear how much respect he gets as a pass defender with most teams opting to not throw on his side of the field.

3. Josh Jackson
College: Iowa
Height: 6’1″, Weight: 192
Josh Jackson made one of the nicest interceptions I’ve seen against Ohio State this past year. Jackson’s athleticism is off the charts and his reaction time is fantastic. He’s comfortable communicating on defense and follows the quarterbacks eyes well. He’s inexperienced so some teams may worry he’s a one year wonder. His tackling needs improvement as well.

  4. Jaire Alexander
College: Louisville
Height: 5’11”, Weight: 192
Jaire Alexander is another cornerback who looks so comfortable on the field. He has fantastic awareness. He does a great job shadowing receivers and keeping his eyes on a play as it develops. His instincts are some of the best and is quick to make a tackle on underneath plays.

5. Carlton Davis
College: Auburn
Height: 6’1″, Weight: 203
Carlton Davis is great at using his impressive size to his advantage. He’s a physical corner (sometimes to a fault), and is great at slowing routes down before they start. I’m a big fan of his anticipation. Davis was an asset as an aggressive run defender as well.
